About Lucky 9 Ranch
Lucky 9 Ranch was established in 2016 by Mary, who serves as both the Ranch's sole proprietor and only ranch hand. Although established relativity recently, Lucky 9 Ranch's origin can be traced back to Mary's childhood. As a child, her favorite gifts were crafting kits for nearly every imaginable medium. These “clicked” and started a life long pursuit of creative constructions. During primary schooling, Mary enjoyed the stereotypical “boy's” classes just as much as the “girl's” classes – they all afforded the opportunity for creating. Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Print Shop, Drafting, Sewing, Ceramics and Enameling, to name a few. Flashing forward, Mary has been designing and making jewelry for over 15 years now. About the Jewelry found at Lucky 9 Ranch
All jewelry is made from only the finest materials. Each piece is carefully described (material, construction, and cabochon make-up) on the item's page. Only the finest raw materials (i.e. Sterling Silver, Fine Silver, Natural Gems and Stones) are used. All cabochons are hand cut and polished by Mary at Lucky 9 Ranch. Plated Silver, Silver filled materials, dyed rocks are NEVER used. The designs at Lucky 9 Ranch often draw inspiration from nature. Hiking throughout California & Colorado inspires many of the pieces you'll find here. Sterling Silver, Cabochons, Copper, Brass and Bronze, along with found stones are the favorite materials. These, along with textures & forms seen in nature yield a unique rustic aesthetic. Many of the pieces you'll find at Lucky 9 Ranch feature cabochons hand polished at Lucky 9 Ranch from rocks personally collected from nature's magnificent landscapes. Check back often for rustic & unique nature-inspired jewelry! About my Cabochons
The beautiful cabochons (cabs) you'll find at Lucky 9 Ranch are all thoughtfully sourced, cut and hand polished. Only the nicest cab placements are selected from each slab of raw material, even if that means discarding useable material. At Lucky 9 Ranch, quality & aesthetics are always chosen over quantity. The raw materials for cabs are carefully sourced – with rockhounding (legal collection from public lands) a favorite. Some other sources are estate sales, Gem & Mineral shows and trading with other rock hounds. Many of the cabs at Lucky 9 Ranch are made from rare semi-precious materials (such as Charoite, Mtorolite, Tiffany Stone and Bruneau Jasper) and fossilized specimens (suck as petrified wood, petrified palm and turritella agate).
